Our Weekly Routine as Content Creators

Being Social Media marketers means juggling a lot of tasks and staying organised to ensure everything runs smoothly. But creating and maintaining content can easily get out of hand, so how do we keep on top of things? Here are some weekly tasks we do to avoid content overwhelm.

Clean Our Phones

First things first, we clean our phones. This might seem trivial, but it's a game-changer. We move all work-related images and videos to our computers, ensuring they don't mix with our personal photos. This is obviously a personal preference but has helped keep our phones clutter-free, makes it easier to find what we need, and contributes to a better work-life balance.

BONUS TIP: We use an app called Slidebox to help sort through everything quickly and efficiently; it’s swiping for good!

Schedule and Check Posts

Next, we dive into our scheduling. Every week, we review our posts and our clients' posts. We schedule what we can in advance and set reminders for any manual posts that require our attention. This proactive approach helps us stay on top of our content calendar, ensuring that we never miss a posting deadline. It also gives us peace of mind, knowing that our content is lined up and ready to go.

Archive Old Posts

To maintain a tidy digital workspace, we archive all posted content regularly. This helps to minimize data clutter and keeps our digital environment organized. By archiving old posts, we can easily navigate through our upcoming content without getting bogged down by past material. It also makes it simpler to reference old posts if needed, as everything is neatly stored away.

Save Ideas from Social Media

Social media is a goldmine for inspiration. Throughout the week, we come across countless ideas on platforms like Instagram. We make it a point to save these ideas and add them to the content portals for the creation of future posts. This practice keeps our content fresh and exciting, ensuring that we always have a pool of creative ideas to draw from. By systematically saving and organizing these ideas, we can easily plan out content days that are better mapped out to meet our clients' needs.

Review Analytics

To understand what's working and what needs improvement, we review our analytics regularly. We look at metrics such as engagement rates, reach, and click-through rates to gauge the performance of our content. This data-driven approach helps us refine our strategies and make informed decisions about future content. By continuously analyzing our performance, we can adapt and evolve our content to better meet the needs of our audience.

Brainstorm and Plan

Finally, we dedicate time each week to brainstorm and plan future content. This involves researching trends, identifying key topics, and outlining potential posts. We also go back into our saved ideas and work on making these unique to each of our clients. By staying ahead of the curve, we can ensure that our content remains timely and relevant. This forward-thinking approach allows us to maintain a steady flow of high-quality content that keeps our audience engaged.

By following these simple tasks weekly, we stay organized, focused, and ready to create fun and engaging content for ourselves and our clients.
