Let's talk about making content creation a habit again - because if you're anything like me, you know the struggle is real. Once upon a time I was capturing every moment, my phone an extension of my creative self (I was even creating filters 😅), and the next? Crickets. Creative burnout hit, client work took priority, and suddenly months passed without creating anything substantial (or interesting).
So let’s discuss our content creation comeback tour. Here's the no-BS strategy:
Baby steps. I’m talking tiny, manageable content bites - maybe just some B-roll footage or quick phone snaps to start. No pressure to create a viral masterpiece. I’m just TRYING to remember to click record!
Keep it ridiculously simple. Five-minute brainstorms? Perfect. Fifteen-second clips? Amazing. The goal is showing up, not showing off.
Give yourself a guilt-free uploading vacation. I took a whole month where I created without posting.
Pick your comeback date and stick to it. Mine's July (at the time of writing this it feels far away but I know it will sneak up!). This is when that content needs to find its way to a platform (any platform!).
Schedule your content dates like they're non-negotiable. Block that time out like it's the catch up with your bestie - because this is just as important.
Embrace the cringe! Sometimes your content will make you want to crawl under a rock - and that's okay. Progress over perfection, always.
Remember: You can't overthink your way to better content. Sometimes you just need to press record, start typing, or pick up that camera - even when it feels clunky as hell.
Building a content creation habit isn't about becoming an overnight sensation or churning out perfect pieces every time. It's about showing up consistently, staying true to your voice, and trusting the process. Whether you're coming back from a creative break like us or just starting your content journey, remember that every creator you admire started somewhere. They probably felt just as clunky, just as uncertain, but they kept going. And that's exactly what we're going to do - one piece of content at a time.
